Yixian East puts Xidi within a short road transfer

Xidi is a UNESCO-listed Huizhou village in Yixian County, Anhui, known for its arched memorial archways, stone lanes and preserved Ming and Qing architecture.

Yixian East is the closest practical high-speed rail station. The final road transfer is short, but travellers should still confirm the bus or taxi pickup point after arrival.

This guide uses the same Yixian East gateway for direct services from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Hefei, Nanchang, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

After arriving at Yixian East, confirm the local bus or taxi pickup point for Xidi. The village is close to the station, but the final stop and operating hours can change.

Shanghai, Hangzhou, Hefei and Nanchang have the most useful direct connections in the current snapshot. Suzhou, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen also have direct trains, but service is limited.

Shangrao travellers should first travel to Huangshan North and then continue to Yixian East. The same station can also be used for Hongcun, making a two-village itinerary practical by local transport.

Huangshan North also has tourist buses toward Xidi and Hongcun and more external train services. It can be the better choice when Yixian East timing is inconvenient, even though the road transfer is longer.

Xidi is a heritage village with ticketed entry. Check the official opening, ticket and reservation information before arrival.
